HAPPY FACES; SAD HEARTS

I was reading by the pool when the 'No Smoking' sign caught my attention. Seriously, I was more astonished than indignant. But at the same time, I reminded myself that I ought to be eternally grateful if Singapore ever decides to ban smoking completely, which of course is unlikely to happen - due to practical reasons. Such as money and the survival of doctors who treat smoked patients. I wonder if such many rules and regulations are beneficial to inculcating vibrancy. Seems like the big guns have the last say in the end - for practical reasons again, they would gleefully reasoned.

Citing the casino incident, the government still decided to invest on the multi-million dollar recreational revenue despite the lack of consensus which is largely reflected in the newspaper forums. Social and moral issues were the more popular talk-abouts. But who cares anyway?
